What is a servo press?

Precision pressing with an electric servo press

An electric servo press uses a servo motor and precision drive instead of hydraulic oil. Because the motion is fully programmable, you control exactly how much force is applied, where the ram stops and how fast it travels — on every single stroke.

GreenPress® servo presses are used wherever accuracy, repeatability, energy efficiency and process monitoring are critical: precision assembly, press fitting, riveting, crimping, coining, bending and embossing for automotive, battery, electronics and medical components.

Each press can be equipped with force sensors and LVDT displacement measurement so every part is verified against a force–displacement window before it leaves the station.

  • 0.1 to 100 ton capacity
  • 4-pillar, 2-post and C-frame designs
  • Direct drive and belt drive options
  • Force-displacement process monitoring
3 ton four pillar servo press for bearing pressing

Advantages

Why choose an electric servo press?

Precise force & position

Program the exact force, stop position and speed for each step of the press cycle.

Process monitoring

Force sensors and LVDT displacement measurement verify every part in real time.

Energy efficient

Power is drawn only while the ram moves — no idling hydraulic pump.

Clean, oil-free operation

All-electric drive keeps the workplace cleaner and quieter.

Repeatable quality

Consistent results shift after shift, ideal for automotive and medical parts.

Flexible programming

Change over between parts and programs quickly without mechanical adjustment.

FAQ

Servo press FAQs

What tonnage servo presses do you make?

GreenPress® electric servo presses are available from 0.1 ton to 100 ton in 4-pillar, 2-post and C-frame construction.

Which safety features are included?

Models are supplied with two-hand push buttons and a safety light curtain, and can include pneumatic gap-check sensors and full enclosures.

Can a servo press monitor every part?

Yes. With a force sensor and LVDT displacement sensor the press records force against position and can reject parts that fall outside the set window.
